  • 18 years as Emergency Management Chief for Sarasota County (457K residents)

  • Serving as the Incident Manager or part of the Unified Command team for eight (8) Tropical Storms, Three (3) Major Hurricanes, the H1N1 (Swine Flu) Pandemic, Deep Water Horizon Oil Spill, the 2016 Siesta Key Tornado, and the COVID-19 pandemic

  • Florida Professional Emergency Manager (FPEM)

  • Region 4 Coordinator for the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) from 2003 to 2005

    • Provided Emergency Management Assistance for the 05 Super Bowl in Jacksonville , Free Trade Area of Americas civil disturbance in Miami and was deployed to Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan, Jeanne, Dennis, Katrina and Rita to provide state assistance to impacted counties

  • Serving as Central Florida Military Support to Civil Authorities Coordinator for the Department of Military Affairs, Florida National Guard. 

  • U.S. Army career veteran of 22 years

    • Multi-National Force & Observers (MFO) in Sinai Egypt 1982, Combat Operation “Just Cause” in Panama 1989 and working with (JTF-94-95) Operation Sea Signal Cuban mass migration in 1994 in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba

  • Training the Florida Army National Guard soldiers to work in Florida’s airports, seaports and nuclear power facilities, post terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001

  • A Bachelor of Arts Degree in Homeland Security & Emergency Management from Ashford University

  • Recipient of the Florida Distinguished Service Medal
